About the role
We're scaling the firmware team. You'll work on the embedded stack running every SparqX station — C, FreeRTOS, OTA firmware delivery, payment-terminal integrations, and live diagnostics. Your code runs on every station from Berlin to Lisbon.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and ship firmware updates to the global fleet.
- Build OTA infrastructure with rollback + canary deploys.
- Integrate new payment terminals (NFC, QR, BLE).
- Co-design diagnostics with central ops.
- Work directly with hardware engineers and manufacturers.
Requirements
- 5+ years C / C++ on embedded targets.
- Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
- Track record shipping firmware to production fleets.
- EU work authorization.
Nice to have
- Payments terminal experience (EMV, PCI).
- Familiarity with cellular modem AT-commands.
- Hardware co-design exposure.
