1. Scope
This policy explains how cookies and similar local storage are used on the SparqX website. It is part of, and should be read together with, the Privacy Policy, which describes how {{LEGAL_ENTITY}} processes personal data generally. It covers this website only. The SparqX mobile app does not use cookies or advertising identifiers, and the SparqX web client stores your session, theme and language locally on your device rather than for tracking — both are described in the Privacy Policy. Sites we link to set their own cookies under their own policies.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These make the website work and cannot be switched off. They do not require your consent, because the site cannot be delivered without them. They cover: the record of your cookie choice itself, so that we do not ask again on every page; security and anti-abuse tokens, including CSRF protection on forms; and load balancing, so that your requests reach a working server. If you block these, forms and parts of the site will not work.
4. Preference cookies
These remember how you want the site to look and which language to serve, so the choice survives a page reload or a later visit. They cover: your interface language, stored by the site's internationalisation layer when you switch language or when we detect it from your browser; and your colour theme — light, dark or follow-system. They hold a setting, not an identifier. Blocking them is harmless: the site falls back to your browser language and the system theme on every visit.
5. Analytics cookies
We measure how the site is used so we can fix what is broken and improve what is not clear: pages viewed, referring source at the level of a domain, approximate region derived from a truncated IP address, device type, and errors encountered. Analytics is self-hosted on infrastructure we control. The data is not sent to an advertising network or an external analytics vendor, is not sold, is not combined with your SparqX account, and is not used to build a profile of you. IP addresses are truncated before storage. These cookies are set only if you accept them in the consent banner, and are removed if you later withdraw that consent. Declining them changes nothing about how the site works for you.
6. What we do not use
This website sets no advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies. There are no third-party marketing pixels, no social network tracking widgets, no data brokers and no ad-network identifiers. We do not sell or share cookie data for advertising, and we do not participate in cross-site behavioural advertising.
7. How long cookies are kept
Session cookies — security and load-balancing tokens — are deleted when you close your browser. Your recorded cookie choice is kept for 6 months, after which we ask again. Preference cookies for language and theme are kept for up to 12 months from your last visit. Analytics cookies are kept for no more than 13 months. The measurement data derived from them is retained in aggregated form for up to 24 months, in line with the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
8. Your choice and how to withdraw it
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline each optional category. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose, and declining is as easy as accepting. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately: the affected cookies are deleted and no new ones are set. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.
9. Browser controls
Independently of our banner, your browser can block or delete cookies, either for all sites or for this one, and its private browsing mode discards them when the window closes. Most browsers also send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal; where a browser sends an automated opt-out signal we recognise, we treat it as a refusal of analytics cookies. Deleting cookies also deletes the record of your choice, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
10. Changes to this policy
If we add a new cookie category or a new purpose, we update this page and, where consent is required, ask for it again before setting anything new. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
11. Contact
Questions about cookies or about the data they generate: {{PRIVACY_EMAIL}}. Controller: {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}, {{LEGAL_ADDRESS}}. Your rights of access, erasure, objection and complaint are set out in the Privacy Policy.
