SparqX EU pilot now live across 27 countries
SparqX completes a 14-month EU rollout, bringing one shared powerbank network online across 27 countries with 18,420 stations.
BERLIN, January 15, 2026 — SparqX GmbH today announced the public launch of its EU pilot, completing a 14-month rollout that brings 18,420 powerbank rental stations online across 27 European countries and the United Kingdom.
The network operates on a single-wallet model: users rent at any SparqX station and return at any other on the network, with billing in local currency. Standard pricing is €0.30 per hour, capped at €5 per 24-hour period.
Stations are hosted by venue partners (cafés, bars, restaurants, transit hubs, hotels) on a zero-cost basis. Venues earn 30% of network revenue from rentals originated at their location.
"This is what we mean by infrastructure," said Kenji Aoyama, CTO. "It's not the app you download. It's that there's a station 200 meters from wherever you are, and the powerbank you take in Berlin returns just as cleanly in Madrid or Stockholm."
Beta testing during 2025 included over 4.1 million rentals across 24 cities with 99.94% station uptime. The public launch makes the service available to all EU + UK residents and travelers.
